U4GM - Elden Ring Rune Farming Guide for Late Game

Farming elden ring runes becomes increasingly important in the late game as leveling up, upgrading gear, and buying consumables require a massive number of runes. Whether you're preparing for NG+ or taking on the game's toughest bosses, having a solid rune farming route can save you hours of grinding. In this guide, we’ll go over some of the most efficient late-game rune farming spots and tips to maximize your earnings.

1. Mohgwyn Palace - The Ultimate Rune Farming Spot

Mohgwyn Palace is arguably the best place to farm elden ring runes in the late game. This area becomes accessible after completing Varre’s questline or using the Pureblood Knight’s Medal. Once inside, head to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace.

Just ahead of this site, a large group of Albinaurics will be praying near a cliff. With a good AoE weapon or spell, you can easily wipe them out in seconds. Each run can net you around 40,000 to 70,000 runes, especially with a Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot and the Gold Scarab talisman.

Bonus tip: Use a bow to snipe the nearby bird enemy across the lake. If it chases you and falls off the cliff, you earn around 11,000 elden ring runes instantly.

2. Haligtree Soldiers and Knights

In Miquella’s Haligtree, the enemies are tough but drop a significant number of elden ring runes. The best farming route is from the Haligtree Town Site of Grace. Equip stealthy gear or use ranged magic to pick off enemies from a distance. The runes per enemy can range from 2,000 to 5,000, and it's a great place to test your combat skills while earning runes.

3. Farum Azula Dragon Temple

The Crumbling Farum Azula is another strong late-game area to farm elden ring runes. Start from the Dragon Temple Rooftop Site of Grace and take on the Beastmen of Farum Azula in the area. They drop around 2,000 to 4,000 runes each and are relatively easy to defeat with AoE weapons or spells.

Watch out for the more powerful enemies, but the density of mobs here makes it worth your time. With the right equipment, you can earn over 100,000 elden ring runes per run.

4. Rune-Boosting Gear and Items

To maximize your rune farming, always use the Gold Scarab talisman, which increases rune acquisition. Additionally, farm or craft Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot before your farming session. These boosts can significantly improve your rune gains and reduce grind time.

5. NG+ and Beyond

In New Game Plus and further cycles, enemies drop even more elden ring runes. All the mentioned spots become exponentially more profitable. However, they also get tougher, so ensure your gear and strategy are upgraded accordingly.

Final Tips

  • Don’t hoard too many runes without leveling up or buying items—you risk losing them to a surprise death.

  • Consider switching to easier farming routes if you’re just grinding for smithing stones or consumables.

  • Mix up your farming spots to keep things fresh and avoid burnout.

By using the right farming spots and boosting gear, you can make rune farming in the late game efficient and even enjoyable. Elden Ring may be a tough journey, but with enough runes in your pocket, you’ll be ready for anything the Lands Between throw at you.
